Woman tears up after 8 years of hard work, receives black belt in Jiu Jitsu

Laurie Rocha started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Neuchâtel, Switzerland when she was only 15 years old. Now, as a 4X European Champion and World Pro Champion, she proudly owns a black belt.

Her incredible achievement has been celebrated across social media after a touching moment was shared on Instagram, where she was awarded the black belt from her coach and husband, Johnif Rocha.

Over the course of almost eight years, Laurie trained hard to reach this goal, and she is grateful for the amazing experiences and opportunities that Jiu-Jitsu has brought her.

She expressed her excitement about fighting in the black belt division, saying it’s the beginning of everything she has been looking for.

People from around the world congratulated Laurie on her remarkable achievement, with many commenting on how much she deserved it. She thanked her husband, family, and teammates for their constant support and motivation, and expressed her gratitude for being able to practice Jiu-Jitsu in a family-friendly and healthy environment.

Laurie and her husband run Alvorada Jiu-Jitsu, which provides a variety of programs for students to learn basic Jiu-Jitsu techniques, improve their coordination and agility, and build self-discipline and confidence.

Additionally, they have a ladies’ program designed to give women an exclusive and safe learning environment. For the unfamiliar, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on ground fighting and submission holds.
