According to authorities, a seemingly innocent video of a woman leisurely reading a book in a lawn chair has a darker story behind it. Allegedly, the woman had intentionally set her own home on fire and then calmly sat in the front yard to watch it burn.

A chilling video, witnessed by a passerby, captures a woman engaged in a heated argument on her front porch in Elkton, Maryland.

Following a dispute that escalated to a man splashing water on her, the woman reportedly engaged in a confrontation with another resident. Shockingly, shortly thereafter, the house where all of them lived was set on fire, and the alleged arsonist was found sitting outside.

Avery Hammond, the individual who recorded the footage, expressed his disbelief at seeing the woman calmly sitting outside as if the fire wasn’t happening, stating that he couldn’t fathom her apparent indifference to the unfolding events.
The house was rapidly engulfed in flames, and a passerby rushed to aid an individual who was attempting to escape through a window. Firefighters arrived just before the roof collapsed entirely.
According to Senior Deputy State Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire, the accused, Gail Metwally, allegedly walked out to the front yard, sat in a chair, yelled obscenities, and watched the fire consume the entire home.
Metwally, aged 47, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and multiple arson-related offenses. It is reported that she may be dealing with mental health issues.
