In Lithuania, Audra Petrakien was traveling by automobile along a river when she noticed something strange.
A wet puppy stood by the side of the road, shivering in terror.
Audra applied the brakes, leaped out of the car, and raced up to the helpless animal.
Audra became enraged when she discovered something dreadful around the dog’s neck when she examined it more attentively.
The dog was wearing a makeshift anchor made of heavy metal that was fastened to its neck.
Andra Kien, Petra Kien’s daughter, told The Dodo: “Apparently, somebody put a heavy metal item on his neck and dropped him in the river to drown.”
The dog was visibly frightened and trembling due to the cold.
It had found a way to escape its dreadful situation and arrive on a safe land.
“He’s a real fighter,” Andra says.
Simply put, Audra could not comprehend how anybody could be so heartless as to attempt to kill a helpless dog.
“Who did this to you?” When Audra got to the dog, she shouted.
When she first saw it, Audra started to cry, but her emotions quickly turned to resolve. Any effort to help the poor dog would be made by Audra.
She took the dog her home with her and assisted in removing the massive improvised anchor that had been wrapped around the animal’s neck. It was a whopping 13 pounds!
She dried the dog off with a towel and warmed him up.
Thankfully, the veterinary examination revealed that the dog did not suffer from any severe injuries.
Audra has already informed the authorities about the incident, and she is keeping her fingers crossed that the monster who was responsible will be brought to justice.
Andra, the woman’s daughter, says that her mother is a true animal lover who has always had a soft spot for them.
Andra shared her sentiments, stating, “I am very proud of her. She loves animals and always takes care of them.”
The owner of the dog was eventually located by the authorities, but it is still unknown how or why the animal was made to see such a heinous deed. Information obtained from Facebook suggests that the vicious deed committed on the defenseless animal may have been an act of retaliation carried out by one of the owner’s neighbors.
In order to keep the dog safe while the problem was being sorted, Audra made the decision to surrender it to a reputable animal shelter.
I have high hopes that this dog will soon be adopted into a family that will truly love him and care for him, and that he will never have to go through anything like this again. This assassination attempt is abhorrent in every possible way, regardless of the motivations that lie behind it.
