Off-duty police officer Andy Black was working at a mall in Kansas when a woman with a baby had a seizure. As the woman was coming out of it, Officer Black noticed she was too weak to attend to her 2-month-old baby in the carrier next to her.

In an act of kindness, Officer Black asked the woman if it would be okay if he picked up the baby to care for her until paramedics arrived. The woman nodded in agreement, and Officer Black fed the little girl her bottle.

A bystander, Jilli Nel, took a photo of Officer Black caring for the baby, and the photo quickly went viral on the internet.

After assisting the woman and her baby, the woman’s husband arrived and Officer Black helped them to the ambulance. However, the officer was surprised when a photo of him feeding the baby went viral on Facebook.

He expressed his disbelief and added that even though it was a small act, he was pleased with the positive reinforcement it provided to law enforcement. The photo of a police officer nurturing a baby certainly helps to promote a positive image of the police force.
