Gary Barnes, 78, received numerous medals and awards during his years of service in the United States military. Barnes, a Vietnam veteran, has led a fast-paced life with little downtime.
After years of travelling abroad, he had settled into a nice nest, but there was one thing he felt he was missing.
Then, as fate would have it, Barnes received a phone call that would change his life forever. He had no way of knowing who was looking for him after 50 years.
Barnes, like many other soldiers, sought refuge in the Philippines while serving in Vietnam. Not just general reprieve and respite from combat, but the kind of comfort a soldier seeks in a woman’s arms.
