Two teenagers are married on the bride’s front lawn after being informed that he has just months to live

Chase Smith and Sadie Mills, two high school seniors who had been dating for six months, had big life goals they wanted to accomplish together.

They imagined finishing high school, continuing their diving and swimming job in college, and raising a family.

But they made the decision to forego some of those landmarks and go right to the altar.

Chase confided: “We definitely were thinking about getting married in the future and we knew we wanted to.”

“A lot of people do say, ‘Oh they’re getting married because he has a potential to pass away soon,’ and that’s not at all why we decided to get married. It was more of just a wake-up call that, ‘Hey, God wants you two together.’”

Since he was 12 years old, Smith has been battling Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare kind of cancer.

But Smith discovered in March that his cancer had come back and was now spreading tumors all over his body.

The two met during an ice cream party following a swim match even though they go to different high schools. But it took Chase a full year before he asked for Sadie’s phone number.

Sadie said: “He was so sweet. He’s very polite. He’s a good Christian boy. We just fell in love with each other’s personalities. Now, he is all that matters to me.”

Following six months of dating and Chase’s condition, they came to the conclusion that marriage was God’s purpose for them. Additionally, their parents also gave them support.

Within four days, a beautiful wedding, complete with a stunning bridal gown and matching outfits for the groom and his groomsmen, was scheduled for Sadie’s front yard.

It was the finest day of Sadie’s life, she claimed.
