Two officers deliver baby in parking lot when mom can’t make it to hospital

To put it simply, life happens when you least expect it. Last Sunday, two officers from the Stockton Police Department assisted in the delivery of a baby in the police parking lot.

A man flagged down a Stockton PD Officer at Washington St/El Dorado St at 7:46 a.m. on Sunday, September 27. The man approached the officer and informed him that his wife was expecting a child.

The woman in question, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was giving birth. Her husband asked the officer if he could take her to the hospital, according to the Stockton Police Department on Facebook.

The quick-thinking officer directed the man to park in the front lot of the Police Department and called an ambulance.

He then attempted to calm the couple down during what must have been a very stressful time. However, as fate would have it, the baby couldn’t wait to enter the world, and the mother’s waters broke while they waited for the ambulance.

The baby decided it was time to leave as soon as two more officers with medical experience arrived. Fortunately, the officers were present to deliver the baby.

Both mother and child were taken to the hospital and are doing well.

A woman gives birth unexpectedly at a Missouri Walmart.

According to reports, another woman in Springfield did not make it to the hospital on time. That incident occurred in March of last year, and the woman was in a Missouri Walmart when her waters broke.

She informed store employees that her previous child would arrive in 30 minutes, so there might not be much time.

Fortunately, a labor and delivery nurse happened to be shopping nearby and came over to help.

Screebshot

Springfield firefighters then arrived to assist with the delivery, and the woman gave birth to a baby girl in 45 minutes. You can read the entire story here.
