Newborn twin sisters, Annie Jo Scott and Effie Rose Scott, have an extraordinary birth story to cherish forever. These fraternal twins entered the world on different days and different years, making their arrival truly unique.
Annie Jo made her debut at 11:55 p.m. on December 31, 2022, as reported by their mom, Kali Scott. In contrast, her sister, Effie Rose, came into the world at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2023, according to Scott.

Scott expressed her delight at the distinctiveness of their birth, saying, “I love the unique aspect that they get to go forward with a little bit of individualism right out of the gates.”
Kali and Cliff Scott, hailing from Denton, Texas, had initially anticipated their daughters’ arrival on January 11, the scheduled date for Kali’s cesarean section.

However, circumstances took an unexpected turn after Kali’s check-up appointment on December 29, when she was hospitalized to monitor her blood pressure. It was during this period that the couple realized their twins could potentially be New Year’s babies.
Scott recounted the moment, saying, “We had joked at that point, once we realized that we weren’t going to leave the hospital without babies, that wouldn’t it be funny. We had a couple friends who said the same thing, and then it ended up happening that way.”

The decision to proceed with the C-section was made late on Saturday night, with Annie being the first to be delivered, followed by Effie just six minutes later. Both girls weighed approximately 5 pounds and 5 ounces, according to Scott, who reported that all three are in good health and are recovering well.
Now, Kali and Cliff are contemplating how they will celebrate New Year’s and the girls’ birthdays on two separate days for years to come. Scott remarked, “I had been thinking, you know, so traditional of one birthday, but now it’s two totally different birthdays. One will get to celebrate New Year’s Eve going out and gets to celebrate New Year’s Day and the new year coming in.”
