Touching Moment as 5-Year-Old Visually Impaired Boy Sings Celine Dion Song at His Nana’s Funeral

5-year-old Bentley chose Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” to honor his late Nana during her celebration of life.

Despite being blind and battling the rare condition Septo-optic dysplasia, Bentley poured all his energy into the heartfelt performance.

The touching video shared by his aunt, Haley Bonds, has deeply touched people worldwide.

After Bentley concluded his performance, not a single person in the room had dry eyes. Bonds expressed the emotional impact of her nephew’s singing, stating, “Definitely pulled on everyone’s heartstrings.”

Bonds explained that even after his Nana’s passing, Bentley would continue to sing the song, which is why they believed it was fitting for him to perform it at the funeral.

“He got up there and sang his little heart out,” Bonds shared.

“My nana is singing this song right now, and she is such a good singer,” expressed Julie Bonds, Bentley’s grandmother, to Fox News Digital.

Bentley’s performance was particularly remarkable considering he has been diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, a condition that affects early brain and eye development.

“His pituitary gland is not connected to the body, so he is not getting the hormones he needs to grow,” Bonds explained.

“His corpus callosum is very small, leading to some developmental delays, and his optic nerves are very small, meaning he is completely blind in his right eye and has low vision in his left,” she elaborated.

Bonds further explained that despite his illness, Bentley has flourished and exceeded the expectations set by his doctors.

“They told us he wasn’t going to walk, or talk or crawl. Cunningham proved them wrong, so every little thing he did was just amazing,” she added.

The video capturing Cunningham’s singing was initially shared on internet, where it rapidly gained immense popularity, quickly going viral.
