Tina Turner’s second husband donated an organ to her because he didn’t want another woman

Erwin Bach, Tina Turner’s second husband, displayed an extraordinary act of love and devotion by selflessly donating one of his organs to her, stating that he “didn’t want another woman” in his life. The world mourns the loss of the iconic Rock’n’Roll queen, celebrated for her unforgettable anthems like ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘The Best.’

On Wednesday (May 24), Turner peacefully passed away at the age of 83 in her home in Switzerland, leaving behind a legacy as a music icon and role model. Throughout her illustrious career, the American-Swiss vocalist, born Anna Mae Bullock in Tennessee, was honored with eight Grammy Awards and received stars on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the St. Louis Walk of Fame.

In recent years, Turner battled a series of health issues, beginning with a diagnosis of intestinal cancer in 2016. Despite overcoming cancer and recovering from a stroke, her kidneys started to weaken, with only approximately 20% functionality remaining. Dialysis or a transplant became the sole options for the renowned singer.

Fortunately, it was during this critical period that Bach stepped in, making an incredibly selfless sacrifice to save his wife’s life. Turner’s 2018 autobiography, ‘Tina Turner: My Love Story,’ shed light on her health struggles, revealing that a transplant was her only hope for a chance at a normal life.

However, the likelihood of finding a suitable kidney donor was slim. Turner shared that she didn’t want to rely on dialysis, as it would mean being dependent on a machine, which wasn’t the way she wanted to live her life.

The toxins in her body began to take their toll, leaving Turner unable to eat and merely existing rather than truly living. She found herself contemplating the idea of death. She even went as far as signing up for assisted suicide, prepared to accept the end if her kidneys failed. However, before matters worsened, her loving husband intervened.

Turner recalled Bach’s words, stating that he didn’t want another woman or another life. Then, in a surprising and heartfelt gesture, he expressed his desire to donate one of his own kidneys to her. It was an undeniable display of true love that touched the hearts of many.

Indeed, Erwin Bach’s willingness to undergo organ donation for the sake of his wife’s well-being stands as a testament to the depth of their bond and the extraordinary love they shared. As the world mourns the loss of Tina Turner, her enduring legacy and the story of her husband’s remarkable act of love will continue to inspire generations to come.
