Tina Turner was unafraid of death and embraced the last phase of life as something wonderful

After enduring personal turmoil and pain for many years, Tina Turner found happiness and embraced a peaceful life in Switzerland during her final years.

According to Stephen Sills, a designer and longtime friend of the late singer, Turner expressed that she was prepared for whatever the future held.

Sills recalls her words from two years ago, where she expressed a lack of fear towards death and shared that she had enjoyed a wonderful last part of her life but felt tired.

“She told me two years ago, she said, ‘Stephen, I’m ready to go anytime. I’m not scared of death. I’ve had a wonderful last part of life. I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m tired,'” Sills recalls.

Tina Turner, who passed away on May 24 at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness, found a significant source of happiness in her husband Erwin Bach.

The couple, who had been together for 27 years, tied the knot in 2013. According to a music industry source, in her last years, Turner experienced happiness and a sense of security in her relationship with Bach. She found true love and lived without fear.

Additionally, Turner cherished the friendships she had in Switzerland and held deep affection for the people around her.

Stephen Sills, who assisted Tina Turner in decorating her home in the South of France, shares that despite facing challenges with dialysis after receiving a kidney transplant from Erwin Bach in 2017, Turner maintained a positive outlook.

Sills recounts a recent conversation with Turner’s housekeeper about three weeks prior, as he had plans to visit her at her residence in Switzerland during the spring. According to the housekeeper, Turner was happy and comfortable, and everything was going well.

Sills mentions that he used to visit Turner annually for a week, and she had also visited his home in Bedford, New York, on several occasions.

Sills expresses his admiration for Tina Turner, describing her as an incredible friend and a powerhouse of creativity. He acknowledges that the Tina Turner persona she created for her performances was a fictional character, and they often discussed it, but behind the stage presence, she remained a positive, energetic, and curious individual.

The industry source adds that Turner, having conquered years of adversity, exhibited immense courage and cherished the serene environment of her two lakefront properties in Switzerland. Whenever she had the opportunity, Turner enjoyed being outdoors, relishing the fresh air and the natural beauty that surrounded her.
