As the saying goes, “It’s not always easy to catch every word in a song.” Many of us can relate to singing along to what we think are the right lyrics, only to find out we were way off.
In a charming video shared a couple of years ago by the Kabs Family, we are introduced to a little girl who sings with such conviction that we almost miss the fact that she’s actually botching the words.
The Kabs, who have amassed a sizable following across their social media platforms due to their amusing and relatable content, including vlogs, pranks, and challenge videos, have their own YouTube channel and reside in the U.K.
In the video, we see Tay and Maliya, an adorable father-daughter duo, sitting in a stationary vehicle listening to some music when Maliya begins to sing “Candy Girl” by New Edition. The only issue is that Maliya doesn’t quite know the lyrics.
Dad’s expression speaks volumes as he listens to his daughter confidently belt out the wrong words. “You’re getting the lyrics wrong,” he tells her, but undeterred, Maliya continues singing her version, punctuating her performance with some enthusiastic pointing.
As Tay listens with a weary expression, Maliya proceeds to sing two more songs. Although he may have had enough of this particular sing-along, we can’t seem to get enough of Maliya’s endearing performances. We certainly don’t mind if she gets the words wrong; we could listen to her serenade us all day long!
