The brothers activate their twin powers when their mother has a seizure while driving

Twins Jermel and Jordan Taylor, both 11 years old, share a special bond that many fraternal twins do. They were riding in their mom Crystal Thompson’s Dodge SUV on their way to their grandmother’s house when they noticed a change in their mother’s behavior. Crystal was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2014, but only experiences seizures occasionally.

There’s no warning before a seizure, but in just a split second, Jermel and Jordan figured out what was happening. Their quick reactions are now credited with saving their mom’s life and potentially the lives of other drivers on the road.

Jermel, who was sitting in the front seat, reached across to grab the steering wheel and guide the car off the road onto the grass. Meanwhile, Jordan quickly called his step-father from the backseat and then dialed 911. Both were scared, but managed to relay enough details to the operator to dispatch police. They took care of their mother until help arrived, and Crystal was taken to the hospital, but doesn’t remember any of the incident.

When Crystal heard what her sons had done, she was incredibly proud. Massillon, Ohio mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry and the Massillon Police Department also honored the brothers with a special recognition ceremony. Jermel and Jordan are modest about their new hero status, but both urge other kids to take action when someone needs help.

“It takes a lot of bravery and street-smarts to take the wheel like that! These brothers really activated their apparent super twin powers when it mattered most,” as reported by Good News Network.
