He graduated from high school and decided to invite as many local cops as he could to his graduation party.
Micah’s motivations for inviting cops to his party were deeply personal.

He died of heart complications, leaving behind a wife and three children.
This was obviously extremely difficult for Micah, his siblings, and his mother.

Hundreds of police officers turned out for Micah’s father’s funeral.

He told Inside Edition that inviting police officers to his graduation party was a way for him to feel as if his father was still present.
Despite having sent out the invitations, Micah had no idea how many cops, if any, would show up.
To his surprise, eighteen officers drove up to his house with their lights flashing and smiles on their faces.
They formed a line in Micah’s driveway and took turns shaking his hand.
The adolescent also had a surprise for the officers.
He made party bags for each of them and distributed them.
He also gave them a gift that he had made in welding class.
Micah, his family, and all of the officers who attended the celebration were moved by the occasion.
Many of them had served on the police force with Micah’s father and missed him just as much as the rest of his family did.
