Taylor Swift’s fervent fans should consider taking it down a notch.

A multitude of Swifties swarmed around the singer on Friday evening as she exited a restaurant on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.

Reportedly, the pop icon had shared a meal with high-profile friends in preparation for Jack Antonoff’s rehearsal dinner prior to his wedding to Margaret Qualley on Saturday.

News spread like wildfire that Swift was present at the dinner, prompting a horde of supporters to gather outside the restaurant, eager for a glimpse of the Grammy-winning artist.

While these fans were thrilled to catch a sight of Swift as she eventually emerged, online tensions began to simmer as numerous TikTok creators criticized the admirers’ “peculiar conduct.”

Certain individuals even commented that Swift appeared “alarmed” as security escorted her to a waiting car.

In the midst of it all, a TikTok user went so far as to label the dedicated fans — whose persistent chants of “Taylor Swift” resonated throughout the street — as “obsessive.”

In a TikTok video shared on Saturday morning, pop culture enthusiast @Toris.Intel depicted Swift appearing taken aback by the situation and commented, “This is not the look of a woman who is happy to see y’all.” 

“The audacity meter is beyond,” TikTok user Tori exclaimed, characterizing the throngs as “disrespectful” toward both Swift and Antonoff.

Tori even drew attention to song lyrics from Swift’s popular songs that apparently allude to her discomfort with being the center of attention as a viral sensation.

“Why are y’all not listening?” Tori asked.

“Just insanely above and beyond these para-social relationships have gone with celebrities,” she went on to say. She mentioned that she couldn’t fathom waiting outside a private event just for a brief glimpse of a top-tier celebrity.

A TikToker labeled the crowds of screaming fans as “utterly appalling” and put forth the argument that they likely “completely spoiled” Antonoff’s wedding festivities.

“These are NOT real Swifties who waited for Taylor tonight,” another fan argued.

Photographs taken by paparazzi during the commotion at Long Beach Island depicted Swift accompanied by actors Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum.

A content creator zoomed in on Kravitz’s facial expression, asserting that her demeanor perfectly captured the essence of the evening.

“Zoe Kravtiz’s face is literally all of us watching you crazy psychopaths last night,” creator Kyle Roth said in a clip.

“Don’t do that to Taylor Swift. Did you guys not watch ‘Miss Americana?’” she added.

Roth, alongside a multitude of fellow Swift fans known as Swifties, alluded to the documentary featuring the “Lavender Haze” artist. In the documentary, there’s a scene where a throng of shrieking fans congest a street as the singer hops into a car and tries to make a getaway.

In spite of the backlash, it’s widely believed that fans will be keeping a watchful eye for Swift’s presence once more on Long Beach Island come Saturday night, as that’s when Antonoff and Qualley are scheduled to tie the knot.

The high-profile event is anticipated to be graced by the presence of Lana Del Rey, Cara Delevingne, and Ryan Reynolds, as reported by Page Six.

Speculation about their engagement started circulating last year when Qualley showcased a stunning diamond ring on her finger.
