Surviving a life-threatening event can have a profound impact on one’s perspective towards life. Reflecting on such moments often brings a heightened appreciation for life and a renewed sense of purpose, as the realization that one has emerged from the ordeal alive dawns upon them.
One woman’s moment of survival has been permanently documented online.
Scary accidents
Car accidents can be devastating, especially when they involve shorn metal, leaking fluids, and gouges in the pavement. Recently, a woman from Washington state was involved in this type of accident.
Rescuers at a loss
Medical and police personnel were left stunned by the severity of the accident.
Slamming the brakes
Rocky Oliphant, a State Trooper who arrived at the scene, was shocked by what he saw. The accident occurred when the woman was driving on the I-5 and had to hit the brakes after a truck in front of her slowed down. The crash was so severe that it left her car mangled beyond recognition.
The woman was unaware that a semi-truck was following her too closely.
The truck behind her couldn’t stop
When the woman applied her brakes, she had sufficient time to slow down her small car. However, the large semi-truck tailgating her didn’t have the same privilege due to the laws of physics, such as inertia.
Upon impact, the semi-truck lifted the back end of the woman’s car, folded it upwards, and compressed the entire vehicle into a small cube.
Unrecognizable
The car, a Nissan Altima, was so badly crushed by the impact of the semi-truck that it was almost unrecognizable as a vehicle, except for the tires sticking out of it at odd angles.
“The car was struck from behind, folded the car in half, and semi came to rest on top of the car,” Oliphant continued. “In my 14 year career, I have never seen anything like it.”
A miracle
It’s unbelievable, but the woman managed to crawl out of the flattened car.
The woman’s escape from the cubed car was remarkable as she managed to climb out without much difficulty and avoid the death trap. Miraculously, she only sustained minor injuries and nobody else was hurt. Authorities were shocked when they arrived on the scene and witnessed the extent of the damage.
Shock and awe online
People expressed their disbelief after the photo of the car was shared on Twitter.
The photo is so shocking that it’s easy to understand why most people would gasp audibly and visibly react with shock when they realize that the woman survived.
“For someone [to] walk away from that it’s got to be the safest car on the planet,” one Twitter user replied
While it’s unlikely that Nissan will use this photo in their commercials, it’s worth noting that the engineers behind the design of the Nissan Altima may have played a role in saving this woman’s life.
We can only speculate about the identity and circumstances of the woman since we lack information about her.
Truly blessed
We can make some assumptions about the woman who survived the car accident. Firstly, she is incredibly lucky, and perhaps she should consider playing the lottery. Secondly, she may be experiencing a sense of purpose or meaninglessness in the aftermath of surviving an accident that most people wouldn’t have.
