Autism manifests differently in each individual, and many cases may go undiagnosed.
Moreover, even for those who receive a diagnosis, there may still be social stigmatization to contend with. Often, individuals with autism struggle with issues such as maintaining eye contact, feeling isolated, or engaging in conversation.
Chris has autism.
Tiffany constructed a cottage for her brother to enable proximity between them.
Tiffany and her adopted brother, Chris, operate Depo Market together. Chris was adopted when he was eight months old.
Chris, who is 33 years old, expressed discontent with his present living arrangements.
Chris lived in New York, while his sister resided in Hawaii, resulting in 15 years of living apart.
Tiffany acknowledges that her brother’s condition can result in behavior that can be difficult to cope with.
Despite the challenges that come with having a sibling with higher-functioning autism, Tiffany is willing to go to great lengths to ensure her brother’s happiness.
Individuals with this condition often have their unique ways of coping with boredom and stress that differ from the norm.
Neurotypical individuals may frequently find it irksome.

Regardless, Tiffany was determined to provide Chris with the highest possible quality of life.
To bring Chris closer to her, Tiffany constructed a dwelling in her backyard, which is as close as it gets. After returning from Hawaii, Tiffany was reunited with her brother in Maui.
Her objective was to construct a cottage that would cater to all of his requirements.
The cottage is an aesthetically pleasing structure, not merely a glorified shed. It is a fully-equipped and exquisitely decorated abode.

The cost of the project amounted to $15,000, but it was undoubtedly worth the investment.
Sunlight streaming through the windows enhances the overall appearance of the cottage.

Individuals who are on the autism spectrum often develop unique habits, such as Chris who drinks more water than the average person. Therefore, his house has been modified to cater to his needs.
“Chris is the thirstiest person you have ever met so he is constantly up in the night drinking water and needing the toilet, so we made sure his bathroom and a water tank was right by his bed.”
Moreover, Chris’ kitchen is equipped with an induction cooker to prevent any accidental stove left on. Additionally, Tiffany assists Chris by prepping portions of his food in case he forgets.
All of the materials and furniture used to construct the home are repurposed.

The excellent craftsmanship of the home conceals the fact that repurposed materials and furniture were utilized.
Furthermore, Tiffany and her partner have recently welcomed their daughter, Luna, into the family.
Naturally, Chris is thrilled to reside in close proximity to his baby niece.
