Allen’s automobile overturned, pinning him beneath it for more than an hour. But just as he was about to give up hope, a little lad appeared out of nowhere and saved him.
Malachi, a 9-year-old from Sumter, South Carolina, was praised as a hero after one day he saved the life of his elderly neighbor.
At nearby Malachi’s house, resident Allen Clemmons was repairing his convertible Mustang at the time. While he was attempting to remove the transmission, the automobile slipped and landed directly on the man’s body, despite the fact that he had employed a jack and blocks to keep it up.
Despite the fact that Clemmon’s injuries were less serious because the Mustang hit him on his side, he was still stuck below.
Clemmons recalled: “I was having a really hard time breathing with it on top of me, even though I was kind of on my side.”
Even though he immediately began screaming and pleading for assistance, it looked to be in vain.
Clemmon’s family was out conducting errands, and his house wasn’t particularly close to any other houses in the area, so no one heard him and rushed to aid him.
After being trapped beneath the large automobile for an hour and a half, the man began to doubt his ability to survive.
The automobile was too heavy. He had been pleading for aid for too long, but no one had been able to hear him. He was also beginning to feel out of breath. His trust was all that was left. He prayed for a miracle.
Clemmons recalled: “I asked God to help me, to give me one more holler and send an angel by my way, The last holler before I give up.”
The young boy heard him at that point. He heard the man’s cries while he was playing outdoors, and he ran over to the neighbor’s house to investigate what was going on.
The child soon became aware of the situation as he got closer to the man’s backyard.
Fortunately, he understood how to operate a car jack, and with the man’s assistance, they raised the car to free the man.
The nine-year-old youngster went on to say that his uncle had told him how to operate a jack, and it was because of this knowledge that he was able to save a man’s life that day.
The wounded man was transferred to the hospital, where he received treatment for shoulder injuries as well as six broken ribs and a shattered pelvis.
The man shared: “I don’t think I would have survived another 30 minutes. It was getting really hard to breathe. He is truly my guardian angel.”
