In a remarkable incident at a Houston gas station store on Tuesday evening, a pregnant woman and her armed husband successfully defended themselves against an attacking and threatening armed felon.
A woman, who is nine months pregnant, shared with KTRK-TV that she parked her vehicle in front of the All Season Food Store a few minutes before 5:30 p.m. Her purpose was to deliver a meal to her husband who is employed at there.
Due to safety concerns, the couple requested that their identities remain concealed for the story and interview.

According to the station, there were two armed men in a silver SUV parked nearby.
“I got out of my car, and immediately the guy in the passenger seat of the silver car got out with an AR and told me that I startled him,” the woman told KTRK.

Upon receiving a call from his wife, the woman’s husband emerged from the store, as reported by the station. Meanwhile, the individual wielding a rifle proceeded to enter the driver’s seat of a green Dodge Challenger that was parked adjacent to the SUV.
As noted by KTRK, the SUV driver started causing trouble. The husband reported to the station that the driver, identified by the police as 39-year-old Mario Duque, incessantly asked him, “Do you want to die tonight?”
According to KTRK, surveillance footage reveals the couple ignoring Duque as he pointed a gun at them multiple times. The report further stated that Duque approached the husband and pistol-whipped him during the incident.

In response, the woman retrieved a gun from her bag and fired at Duque, while her husband also discharged his firearm, as reported by the station.

“Thank God we had our guns,” the woman told KTRK. “I’ve never been happier to be a gun carrier.”
The station reported that the video footage also captured the woman holding Duque at gunpoint until assistance arrived.
“A bystander told him, ‘Hey man, if you think you’re dying, you might as well pray to God for forgiveness,'” the husband added to KTRK.
According to the station, Mario Duque, who is prohibited from possessing firearms due to his previous felony conviction, remained in the hospital. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
The Houston Police Department stated that there was a second suspect involved who is currently at large.
The woman expressed her determination to KTRK, stating that nothing was going to happen to her partner before her due date, saying, “No, they were not taking out my baby daddy before July 11.”
