During a pregnancy photoshoot, a woman who anticipated her baby bump to be the main attraction found herself overshadowed by an amusing horse.
Amanda Eckstein and Phil Werner, hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, burst into laughter when their horse, Buckshot, became the focal point of their pregnancy photoshoot captured by photographer Kristen Saffiro.
Originally intended to feature Phil’s ten-year-old daughter Ava, who couldn’t attend, the couple decided to involve their horses, including the mischievous Buckshot, instead.
Kristen recounted that attention-seeking Buckshot began making playful expressions for the camera, and as Amanda and Phil’s laughter grew, so did Buckshot’s playful antics.
The images gained widespread attention when Kristen posted them on the internet. Many individuals commented that these photos would become cherished memories that Amanda and Phil could share with their child in the years to come.
Kristen detailed how she captured these amusing photographs, which began like any typical pregnancy photoshoot.
The photographer humorously mentioned that she had jokingly asked Buckshot to “smile” during the session. To her astonishment, the horse actually seemed to heed her direction, responding with a genuine grin.
The initial laughter from Kristen encouraged Buckshot to flash an even bigger smile for the camera.
‘He seemed to smile, which made me laugh. He loves attention, so the more I laughed, the more he smiled,’ Zaffiro told Cafemom.
Upon noticing their horse’s playful behavior, Amanda and Phil couldn’t contain their laughter, and Zaffiro’s camera captured this amusing scene for eternity.
While the initial snapshot featured a heartwarming image of Phil tenderly cradling Amanda’s baby bump, subsequent photos vividly portrayed how the determined Buckshot gradually captured the spotlight from his owner, courtesy of his infectious grin.
The photographer shared these delightful images on her Facebook page, labeling it as the “best maternity session ever.”
The images quickly became a sensation, amassing over 139,000 likes, 326,000 shares, and garnering attention from around the world.
Zaffiro expressed her appreciation for the overwhelmingly positive response, mentioning that she was moved by the fact that numerous individuals were sending their well wishes to Amanda and Phil.
‘There have been a few people in the comments saying that this is the first time they smiled in 2021,’ she said.
‘Some people have said it’s made their hospital stay so much easier.’
