Pierce Brosnan reveals never loses his temper, and uses meditation for balance

Pierce Brosnan, the 69-year-old actor, recently shared his approach to maintaining emotional balance by avoiding anger and practicing meditation. In an interview with US Closer, Brosnan emphasized that he sees no purpose in succumbing to anger.

According to him, he consciously chooses not to get angry, as he believes that allowing anger to consume him would be futile. Instead, he relies on meditation as a means to cultivate a composed state of mind.

In addition to his avoidance of anger, Brosnan finds solace in meditation, which he utilizes to calm his thoughts and achieve inner tranquility. Furthermore, the actor has a deep connection with water and presently resides in Kauai, Hawaii, with his second wife, Keely Shaye Smith.

Reflecting on his affinity for the sea, Brosnan reminisced about his cherished memories of seaside experiences. Consequently, when he arrived in America during the 1980s, he felt drawn to coastal regions, recognizing them as the ideal places to be.

Born in Ireland in 1953 to May and Thomas Brosnan, the renowned actor of Mamma Mia fame, Pierce Brosnan, faced a challenging childhood when his father abandoned the family while he was still very young. Following this, his mother relocated to London to work as a nurse, resulting in her only returning home once or twice a year.

Raised by his grandparents, Philip and Kathleen, Pierce lived with an uncle until their passing, after which he moved in with an aunt. Growing up in solitude, he initially aspired to pursue a career as a painter. At the age of 16, he left school armed with a cardboard folder filled with his drawings and paintings.

Pierce embarked on his artistic journey by enrolling at Saint Martin’s School of Art in London, where he specialized in commercial illustration. While working a full-time job, the future Bond star had intentions of becoming a graphic artist. However, his path took an unexpected turn when he discovered his passion for acting three years into his employment.

Devoting three years to training at the Drama Centre London, Brosnan regarded his entry into the industry as a moment of liberation, describing it as a stepping stone that led him into a whole new life.

In 1975, Pierce Brosnan began his career in the entertainment industry, gradually gaining recognition through a series of films until he was offered the iconic role of James Bond in 1995. Alongside his portrayal as 007, he has taken on various other roles, including his notable performance as Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia.

As a father of five, Brosnan has been married twice. He met his first wife, Cassandra Harris, after leaving drama school, and they married in 1980. They had one son together, Sean, and Pierce also adopted Cassandra’s children, Charlotte and Chris, following the tragic death of their father in 1986. However, more sorrow befell Brosnan as he experienced the loss of his wife Cassandra to ovarian cancer in 1991 and later lost his daughter Charlotte to the same illness in 2013.

In 1994, after experiencing such profound loss, Brosnan found love again. He met his second wife, Keely Smith, a journalist, and the couple married in 2001. They have two sons together, Dylan and Paris. Their lifestyle is divided between Hawaii, Malibu, Dublin, and County Meath.
