New Jersey Dad drives 1,000 miles after family’s Disney flight cancelled: ‘He’s our rock’

A New Jersey man made a life-changing decision when he stepped in to drive his family over 1000 miles after their flight was canceled. Nathan Montanez had just dropped off his wife and two kids at the airport for their Disney World trip, but United Airlines canceled their flight with no available rebooking options for days. Determined to salvage their vacation, Nathan surprised his family by returning to the airport and suggesting a long drive instead.

With the iconic song “On the Road Again” playing on the radio, Nathan embarked on a non-stop 17-hour drive to ensure they wouldn’t miss a day in the Magic Kingdom. Arriving in Orlando after midnight, he allowed only a few hours of rest before heading back to New Jersey so he could resume work the following day, only missing one day of work.

Jill Tobin-Montanez, Nathan’s wife, expressed her admiration and gratitude, declaring him as their rock. She marveled at his selflessness, acknowledging that not many people would go to such lengths. The children were also deeply appreciative, and Jill mentioned that they couldn’t stop talking about their amazing dad.
