Mother gives birth to exceptionally rare triplets

Becki-Jo Allen and her daughter, Indiana, lived in England where it was safe, quiet, and comfortable.

But one day, Becki-Jo started to feel sick, and she thought she might be pregnant again.

It turned out that she was, in fact, going to have triplets. When it was time to give them out, however, they were in for a bigger surprise than the news. What happened is so unusual that the odds of it happening again are 200 million to 1.

Becki-Jo and her daughter Indiana live outside of the English city of Liverpool. Their life was peaceful until Becki-Jo started to feel like something was going on inside her. It started when she started to feel sick.

Becki-Jo told the Liverpool Echo, “I had been being very sick and had a really bad headache so I booked an early scan and that was when I found out I was expecting triplets. It was the biggest shock of my life!”

“We haven’t got any triplets in the family so it came completely out of the blue.”

The mom was shocked, but also happy, when she heard the news. Indiana was to be the oldest of three sisters. Becki-Jo got a lot of help from her friends and family, and she tried to prepare herself mentally for the task of having three children.

Becki-Jo was in her 31st week of pregnancy, but she had to be rushed to the hospital because something was wrong. There, she had a Caesarean section to give birth to her triplets. Due to the fact that they were born early, they were very small.

The smallest was Rocco, who only weighed 3.33 pounds. His brothers weren’t much bigger than him.

Due to their size, all three had to stay in intensive care for six weeks.

Triplet pregnancies are risky, and it’s rare that all three fetuses make it to birth.

Becki Jo’s three babies, on the other hand, turned out to be fighters. They all got better, put on weight slowly, and got stronger as time went on.

Then, after being in the hospital for almost 15 weeks, the boys were able to go home.

Now, Becki-Jo was sure that her boys weren’t identical, even though it was hard for her to tell them apart.

But as they grew, people still had a hard time telling them apart. Becki-Jo had strangers stop her on the street just to ask!

So, the mom decided to look into the situation more. She called a lab and had DNA tests done on the three brothers.

The test results showed that the brothers had the same genes. The odds of that happening can be as high as one in 200 million, which is crazy.

It is said that the use of test tubes and hormone stimulation has made the chance of having triplets more likely. Still, being genetically identical is still a very rare thing.

We don’t get anywhere fast because people are always stopping us when we’re out and asking if they are identical.

“I was always convinced they weren’t, because that’s what I had been told during my pregnancy.”

As might be expected, the family uses a lot of things. Becki-Jo says that the washing machine runs almost all the time.

And now look at how big they are!
