The day you become a parent is one you will remember for the rest of your life. Suddenly, a unique little person has entered the world and is reliant on you. It is your responsibility to create the best conditions for them and assist them in achieving their goals.
Adriana Iliescu made international headlines when she became a mother for the first time in 2005. What’s the reason? She was 66 years old at the time.
Adriana’s joy was limitless when she gave birth to her daughter Eliza.
Now, 17 years later, the elderly mother is back in the spotlight after new photos of her daughter have gone viral…
There are some days in a person’s life when everything changes. Every parent will probably agree that the moment you welcome your child is indescribable.
It’s the best feeling in the world to see that precious child look up at you for the first time.
Some children are written into history from the moment they are born.
That is exactly what happened to Eliza Iliescu when she was born in Romania in 2005. The girl became famous because of her mother.
Adriana Iliescu became the world’s oldest mother at the age of 66. For obvious reasons, her birth story made headlines, and Adriana’s birth earned her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Adriana opened up about motherhood and discussed her feelings in 2010 after receiving harsh criticism after becoming a mother. People thought she was selfish and overburdened.
“The mirror is unkind to women, but if we are talking about my energy then I feel like a young woman. I feel like I’m 27 and when I feel a bit more tired, I feel like I’m 37. I am healthier than women more than half my age,” she told Daily Mail.
“People think they are being funny when they call me granny, but I didn’t have Eliza to make me look younger. I never feel my years.”
Adriana, then 71, also revealed plans to have another child during her interview with the British tabloid.
”Medically, it’s possible,” she said. ”I understand there are trials going on with a 70-year-old woman in England, so it could be done. I am fine and healthy and I think it would be possible to have another child in the future, but I’m not in a rush at the moment.”
Adriana and Eliza, like most daughters and mothers, have formed a strong bond over the years. Eliza is a lively, amusing, and cheerful child.
Despite the fact that many people question Adriana’s age, the elderly mother insists she is a good parent who does everything for Eliza.
“I don’t smoke and I don’t drink. If I live as long as my parents did, Eliza will be 20 by the time I pass away. I think I still have a lot to give her,” Adriana says.
Adriana did not choose to become a mother at such a late age. Adriana Iliescu was forced to abort her baby when she was young and newlywed for medical reasons. Her husband abandoned her when she was 24.
Adriana then concentrated on other aspects of her life, including her teaching job at a university in Romania.
“I couldn’t even think about a child, as I was working,” she said and continued:
“But, from the age of 37, after I had completed my doctorate, I was ready to have a child. But there was not IVF back then.”
When in-vitro fertilization became available in Romania, Adriana was 57 years old. Adriana received treatment, but her first pregnancy failed in 2000.
People who learned of her desire to be a mother abandoned her. They thought Adriana was doing something wrong, but she never gave up hope, and her determination to become a mother was unwavering.
She sought treatment from Dr. Bogdan Marinescu in Bucharest, which resulted in the birth of Eliza. Adriana did become pregnant with triplets, but two of the babies died in the womb, leaving Eliza as the only survivor. She was born prematurely, so she spent a lot of time in the NICU.
But she grew up to be a strong little girl, and Adriana, who was deeply religious, wanted to baptize her daughter. Several religious organizations objected to Adriana becoming a mother at such an advanced age. The nuns gave Adriana strange looks when Eliza was baptized, and one even called her “the product of dark force.”
Adriana believes Eliza is a divine gift from God.
Today is Adriana Iliescu’s birthday.
Adriana became a mother for the first time 17 years ago in 2022. They’re having a great time together now, despite the fact that Adriana is frequently mistaken for Eliza’s grandmother.
Nonetheless, the seasoned mother feels great in both body and mind. She is full of love, which is essential when raising a child.
Adriana is still writing at the age of 83. She’s written over 25 books for children and claims to be in good health. Despite her appearance, she continues to work as a part-time lecturer in Bucharest.
Adriana has also ensured that Eliza’s future is secure.
Adriana struck a deal with the doctor when she decided to try IVF. If Adriana dies, he will be the girl’s godfather and legal guardian.
For the time being, Adriana wishes to keep her family life private, but we do know that Eliza, 17, wishes to study and attend college. Eliza is an award-winning student who follows in her mother’s academic footsteps, according to Brightside.
