Walter looked for his father for many years. He had no idea that another member of the family had been around the entire time.
Walter McFarland and Alan Robinson met while they were in the sixth grade, and they quickly grew close.
The children were attending the same school in Hawaii, and they became fast friends while discussing the mysteries surrounding their families. While Alan had no idea who his biological parents were because he had been adopted, Walter had never met his biological dad.
Despite the fact that they had quite distinct personalities, Walter and Alan maintained their friendship throughout the entirety of their teenage years.
While Alan could be described as bit of a social butterfly, Walter had a more reserved and studious demeanor.
Alan grew up with a brother who was not his biological sibling. Nevertheless, he did not survive past the age of 19.
Alan was aware that there was a possibility that he had further siblings, and he want to get to know them all.
Both of them got online in the 1990s and came to the conclusion that they could utilize the internet to look for members of their respective families. But none of the leads turned out to be fruitful.
After that, when it was finally possible to test one’s DNA, Walter made the decision to do so.
When Walter and his daughter received the DNA test results, they carefully examined them.
They were shocked to learn that Walter had a brother who lived somewhere else. It was fortunately simple to identify this person because he had already utilized the DNA testing service.
No one could believe it, not even Walter or his daughter. This individual was identified as Alan, Walter’s longtime best friend.
Walter gave Alan a call. Alan acknowledged using the DNA testing service himself. But he had not yet identified his unknown brother. Walter then admitted that he had always been that brother.
Alan Robinson stated to KHON2 News:
“It was a shock, yeah, definitely a shock. But then we thought about it, compared forearms.”
Equally hairy on both of their forearms. They were persuaded that they were in fact brothers by this and, of course, DNA testing.
The brothers/friends then made the decision to throw a huge party for all of their friends and relatives. In the midst of everything, they shockingly admitted that they had been siblings for all of these years.
Alan admitted during the gathering that he was still reeling from the information.
He was unsure of when he would adjust to the fact that his brother had always been his best buddy.
The two then got to work organizing the remaining chapters of their life.
They planned to tour the world because they were both ready to retire.
Then, a news report about this incident published online, quickly gaining popularity.
It’s wonderful to see that these brothers have at last discovered the truth after all these time. It’s unfortunate that they had to wait so long to get this information, though. If only DNA testing existed today when they were 18 years old!
