Man stopped by authorities in Nebraska for driving with large bull named Howdy Doody

In Nebraska, a man was stopped by police for cruising along a highway in a compact car, and to everyone’s surprise, he had an enormous Watusi bull seated in the passenger side.

Norfolk Police Division officers responded to a call on a Wednesday morning around 10 a.m., alerting them to a situation where a man was driving in the eastbound lane of highway 275, accompanied by a cow in the front seat.

Police Captain Chad Reiman shared with News Channel Nebraska Northeast, “They thought that it was going to be a calf, something small or something that would actually fit inside the vehicle.”

Photographs depict the massive black and white bull, going by the name Howdy Doody, in a seemingly relaxed pose within the modified small car. Its bulky shoulders, head, and monstrous horns protrude from where the top half of the roof and windshield used to be.

The car’s passenger-side door had been swapped out with a metal guardrail adorned with bars, a feature commonly seen in cattle enclosures, as depicted in the images of the vehicle.

A sign on the railing read “Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Parade: Best Car Entry.”

“As a result, the officers performed a traffic stop and addressed some traffic violations that were occurring with that particular situation,” Reiman said.

The individual behind the wheel of the car was identified as Lee Meyer, hailing from Neligh.

Reiman conveyed, “The officer wrote him some warnings. There were some citable issues with that situation. The officer chose to write him a warning and ask him to take the animal back home and leave the city.”

Following the interaction with the police, both Meyer and Howdy Doody set off on their journey back home, as confirmed by the authorities.
