In Woodbridge, Virginia, an attempted abduction was prevented by an unlikely hero. The perpetrator had been closely monitoring his 10-year-old target, but his plans were thwarted when the girl’s dog suddenly emerged from the house and began attacking him as he attempted to abduct her and take her to his hideout.

The incident took place on Heather Glen Court in the 1800 block, and the Prince William County Police Department was grateful that the dog was able to scare off the would-be abductor before he could abduct the 10-year-old girl. Who knows what might have happened if he had succeeded in taking her. Fortunately, the dog intervened to save the girl when no one else could.

The suspect was estimated to weigh approximately 145 pounds and stood between five and six feet tall. He was described as being in his early twenties, of a thin build, with short dark hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white striped shirt and light-colored jeans. Witnesses reported him as being either a light-skinned Black man or of Latino descent.

The attempted abduction occurred in broad daylight on Heather Glen Court in the 1800 block when the man grabbed the girl and tried to drag her away. However, the girl managed to flee and ran back to her residence just before 4 p.m.

Fortunately, her dog recognized the danger and immediately sprang into action, biting the man and causing him to release the girl. The man, realizing he couldn’t succeed, quickly left the scene on foot to avoid being caught by the police. Witnesses described him as a skinny, bearded man in his early twenties with short dark hair, wearing a white striped shirt and light-colored jeans.

Upon receiving the report from the 10-year-old girl, the local police quickly responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation with the assistance of a K-9 team. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the perpetrator was not found. This suggests that he may still be on the lookout for other vulnerable victims.

Sergeant Jonathan Perok from the Prince William County Police Department was grateful that the young girl was able to escape unharmed. He acknowledged that if it weren’t for the brave dog, the man could have potentially harmed or even killed the child. The dog’s attack forced the kidnapper to flee the scene and prevented any harm to the girl.
