Chowder, a playful and goofy 6-month-old puppy, never fails to amaze his family with his silly antics, especially when it comes to his odd sleeping positions.
His owner, Debi Stokes, shared that they often wonder how he manages to find comfort in such puzzling poses.
During a recent peaceful nap, Chowder’s mom glanced over to check on him, and what she saw almost gave her a heart attack.
“I was across the room and I didn’t quite know what I was even looking at,” Stokes said. “I thought perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me.”
Chowder’s position was so bizarre that he hardly resembled a dog anymore; instead, he seemed like a creature straight out of a horror movie. His owner had to carefully examine him to understand how he managed to contort himself into such an unusual posture.
“I guess Chowder fell asleep and was pulling his skin in the opposite direction and his upper lip kind of flipped up,” Stokes said.
Stokes decided to share the photo in the Crap Dog Photography Facebook group, and the response was equally astonished. No one could fathom how Chowder had accomplished such a feat, but it certainly brought joy to many as they tried to unravel the mystery.
All Chowder wanted was a peaceful nap, but he certainly chose an incredibly peculiar way to achieve it.
