Two identical twin sisters in the United Kingdom have taken their uncanny resemblance to a whole new level, doubling their wardrobe and coordinating their outfits every day for an impressive two decades.
Meet Rosey Coles and Kathy Heffernan, both 69 years old, who not only share a remarkable genetic bond but also a fashion-forward camaraderie that’s lasted for 23 years.
These inseparable sisters, hailing from Aldershot, Hampshire, are not just family; they’re also next-door neighbors, making it virtually impossible for them to spend a day apart. They’ve made it a delightful tradition to don identical outfits as they embark on their daily adventures together, be it hopping on a bus, strolling through the neighborhood, sipping coffee at a local cafe, or indulging in retail therapy at the mall – all while dressed in matching ensembles.
Rosey Coles, a mother of two, shared, “When we go out, we wear the same things. For the last 23 years, we’ve been together most days.” Even when the dynamic duo goes on vacation, they meticulously pack their suitcases with identical outfits, ensuring their fashion harmony knows no bounds, and their commitment to twinning will continue for the rest of their lives.
Kathy Heffernan likens their unique bond to “being married to someone for 70 years,” but with a quirky twist – they “don’t argue.” Their bond is so unbreakable that it extends to every aspect of their appearance, from matching eyeglasses to identical hairstyles, and even pajamas that are mirror images of each other.
Their remarkable similarity often draws the attention of strangers who can’t resist stopping them for a photo, and many find it challenging to differentiate between the two. As Coles humorously puts it, “We are very similar. It’s creepy.”
Interestingly, this fashion-forward twinning isn’t something new for the sisters. They used to dress alike during their childhood years. However, their matching tendencies took a hiatus when they both got married in the 1970s and no longer lived in close proximity.
But fate had other plans for them. In the year 2000, both sisters found themselves separated from their husbands, which presented an opportunity to reunite and rekindle their identical wardrobes. This decision ultimately led to their current state of being inseparable and always in sync.
In 2012, the sisters took their closeness to a whole new level by becoming next-door neighbors, sharing not only their lives but also the same home layout and a matching gray color scheme.
These shopaholics boast an impressive wardrobe collection consisting of over 50 items of clothing, which includes identical jeans, long dresses, and coats. However, their absolute favorites are vintage ’50s-inspired frocks adorned with petticoats, which add a touch of retro charm to their ensemble.
“The wardrobe is packed tight,” Heffernan chuckles, reflecting on their shopping sprees. They simply can’t resist buying new clothes, especially when a special occasion or a night out together is on the horizon. Heffernan confessed to splurging over $700 on three dresses recently, illustrating their unwavering commitment to staying impeccably coordinated and stylish.
Their shared passion for fashion continues to bond these extraordinary sisters as they embark on their daily adventures, proving that their unique connection goes beyond mere genetics—it extends seamlessly into their wardrobes and beyond.
