A viral video that circulated on social media on Monday, May 1, showed a baby stroller rolling towards a busy highway in Hesperia, California, with a baby inside, leaving the baby’s great aunt helpless on the floor as she attempted to chase after the stroller.
The scene could have ended in tragedy if it wasn’t for a man named Ron Nessman, who happened to be in the right place at the right time to make an incredible rescue. Nessman was in the area for a job interview and had been homeless until recently when he moved in with his sister, Donna.

Nessman has since been on a mission to find employment, and his job interview was what had brought him to the area.
When Nessman saw the stroller rolling towards the highway, he knew he had to act fast. He leapt into action and made a split-second decision to run towards the stroller and dive before it went into the traffic, all while making sure to keep the baby safe.

In an interview with KTLA 5, Nessman said, “I noticed the stroller was going towards the traffic and I instinctively ran towards the stroller and dived before it went into the traffic, and there was a child inside the stroller. I was thankful I was at the right place at the right time.”
Nessman’s heroic act saved the baby from what could have been a tragic accident. The woman looking after the baby at the time did everything she could to catch the stroller, but she was unable to keep up.
Nessman expressed his sympathy for her, saying, “She tried everything she possibly could to get up. Her knees were bleeding when I got up to her; she was still shocked and she was crying.”
Nessman’s bravery did not go unnoticed, and footage of his heroic rescue quickly went viral on social media. Many commenters expressed their disbelief at what they had witnessed and hailed Nessman as a hero.
Nessman himself was just thankful that he was in the right place at the right time to help. He said, “And I’m thankful for that because I really wouldn’t want to see the end result if I wasn’t there.”
