Roberta Hoskie didn’t stop there. She went a step further and offered Elmer a free education at her real estate school to set him up for long-term success.

Acknowledging her own experience of homelessness, Dr. Hoskie expressed her empathy towards Mr. Alvarez’s struggle and offered him a free place at her real estate school, with the condition that he helps another homeless person once he is back on his feet.

In a heartwarming gesture, Dr. Hoskie publicly recognized Mr. Alvarez’s honesty and met him at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, where she broadcasted her good deed through Facebook Live.

According to Fox News 61, Dr. Hoskie stated that the homeless man, Elmer Alvarez, had no idea about the positive changes that were about to happen in his life.

“You don’t have to worry about being in the cold,” she assured him, “We have housing for you.” Elmer became emotional and said, “Thank God!”
