We’ve all experienced difficulty parting with something, whether it holds sentimental value or we envision a future use that will never come to fruition. Some may even be inclined to label themselves as hoarders due to their reluctance to discard items.

However, after witnessing a recent video, such a term may no longer apply. A Los Angeles home has been deemed the ultimate haven for hoarders. The property is distinguishable by the 8-foot-high piles of garbage that envelop the entirety of the house, obscuring it from view even when seen from above in a helicopter.

Neighbors finally reported the issue due to its severity, and the impact of one person’s actions is affecting others. Initially, the issue was simply unsightliness, but it quickly progressed. The neighbor confirmed that the entire property was infested with roaches, bugs, and other creepy-crawlies. The issue has become so extreme that the neighbors can hear rats and mice scurrying through the trash. Since the property is in close proximity to other homes, the problem has started to spread, posing a serious health risk.

The owner claimed that he would fix the situation when confronted by neighbors, but no action was taken. The front door is completely obstructed by garbage, forcing the owner to crawl over it to enter the house. Despite numerous complaints and conversations with the neighbor, letters and requests to the city, and the situation worsening over a decade, no action was taken.

Finally, Inside Edition contacted the city, and Mark Ridley’s office, a city council member, assured them that a solution was in progress, albeit requiring the efforts of multiple city agencies. However, the neighbors are hoping this is not just empty promises, as they have received in the past. When a solution does finally come to fruition, it will be a relief for everyone involved, and it’s just downright disgusting.
