In a remarkable moment, a heroic police officer breathes life back into a baby in the middle of a highway, after the infant’s mother raced past a patrol car en route to the hospital.

Officer Brendan Fraser, who was on duty in Warren, Michigan, on Tuesday, noticed a speeding blue Camaro overtaking his patrol car. Realizing it was an emergency, Fraser pulled over the vehicle and rushed to their aid.

Video footage captures the tense moment when he successfully revives their eighteen-month-old baby boy, who had turned blue in the lips due to choking.

In the video, Officer Fraser swiftly approaches the car, reaching inside to assist the distressed family. The mother can be heard screaming, “Help, help, we have a baby in here dying.”

Fraser springs into action, repeatedly asking, “What do you mean? What do you mean?” The family inside the car pleads to be allowed to continue to the hospital, explaining, “We took him to the hospital. They said he had COVID, and then he just started seizing.”

One of the parents cries out, “No, please don’t take him,” but Fraser reassures them, saying, “I’m not going to take him.”

Officer Fraser, speaking to ABC, emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, “At this point, it’s not about writing a ticket, stopping a speeding driver; there’s an actual emergency here. Watching it now, it’s kind of overwhelming, but in the moment, there’s really not much thought other than relying on the training.”

Fraser noted that the eighteen-month-old’s lips were blue and had saliva around them when other officers arrived to provide assistance. Although Fraser and the child’s family have not reconnected, he expressed his willingness to meet them at the police station if they wish to do so.
