Mitchel Musso, a former actor from the show “Hannah Montana,” was detained in a Texas jail overnight following his apprehension on accusations of public intoxication and petty theft.
The incident took place on Saturday when Musso, who gained fame from his role on the Disney Channel series more than a decade ago, entered a local hotel.
Allegedly, he seized a bag of chips and began consuming them without paying around 7:15 p.m., according to information provided by the Rockwall police.
In response to the situation, as relayed in reports by the Dallas Morning News, hotel staff approached Musso, who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol, and requested payment for the snack. However, Musso purportedly responded with verbal aggression and departed the premises without settling the bill.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the hotel in response to the incident and located Musso outside the building, where he exhibited signs of inebriation.
Consequently, he was taken into custody and formally charged with public intoxication and theft involving an amount under $100, as detailed by the newspaper.

Following Musso’s arrest, law enforcement officials uncovered that he had multiple unresolved traffic-related warrants.
He remained confined in the Rockwall County Detention Center for a single night and was subsequently freed on Sunday afternoon after fulfilling the bail requirements.
An official mugshot image, disclosed by authorities and reported by KIRO 7, depicted Musso appearing disheartened, with a towel draped over his chest.
