In central Shaanxi Province, China, a group of five elderly women have been operating a custom dog asylum for many last years, caring for over 1,300 stray dogs. Every morning at 4 AM, these lucky canines are treated to 400kg of delicious food.
The shelter was founded in 2009 by Wang Yanfang, a 60-year-old local animal lover who relies on donations from kind-hearted donors. Even on New Year’s Eve, Wang and her colleagues choose to spend their time with the abandoned dogs rather than attending China’s famous firework displays.

The caretakers, all over 60 years old, are completely dedicated and even celebrate New Year’s Eve with the dogs.
