A wedding photographer usually only captures photos of the wedding and reception, but for Darren Hatt, he was able to witness something truly remarkable while photographing Clayton and Brittany Cook’s wedding in Ontario, Canada.
While the newlyweds were standing on a bridge, a young boy playing in the water below suddenly started yelling in distress. Without hesitation, Clayton jumped from the bridge and pulled the boy to safety before any harm could come to him.
Hatt, the photographer, captured the entire heroic act on camera and later said, “By the time the bride noticed and shouted out, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety. His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim. Well done sir!”
Brittany, the bride, was thrilled that her new husband acted so bravely. “That’s Clay to me. It’s something he would just instinctively do,” she said.
As for Clayton, he took it all in stride, saying that saving someone’s life was just another day’s work alongside getting married.
