Fake cop pulls over car but learns he stopped the wrong car filled with real police detectives

Valiery Portluck, a 25-year-old resident of Hicksville, New York, decided to impersonate a police officer on a particular day.

Sporting a law enforcement outfit, he drove a black car equipped with emergency lights. He made use of his air horn in an attempt to signal the white van in front of him to pull over.

In hindsight, this decision might not have been the wisest.

While approaching the white van and gradually reducing his speed, the occupants of the van revealed their identities. To Valiery’s utter chagrin, he came to the realization that he had mistakenly pulled over the incorrect vehicle.

The van was filled with Detectives.

Ironically, the Nassau County law enforcement officers were likely quite pleased to encounter him in this situation.

They were out looking for Valiery.

After receiving reports of a man posing as a police officer and driving a black car, the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) was alerted. It appears that the individual found himself ensnared by his own actions. According to authorities, Valiery attempted to flee the scene.

Getting himself into deeper trouble

He maneuvered his car erratically, opting to drive in the opposite direction while increasing his speed. In the process, he displayed a disregard for the safety of other motorists on the road, solely preoccupied with his own circumstances.

The sequence of events unfolded akin to the intense car chases often portrayed in movies. The detectives promptly relayed this incident to the police, prompting them to initiate a search for the fake cop.

Valiery continued his escape attempt all the way onto the Long Island Expressway, but law enforcement managed to apprehend him. The imagery of a phony police officer being arrested by genuine law enforcement officers is undoubtedly a scene that evokes a sense of amusement.
