Observing a mother being separated from her offspring is always a heart-wrenching sight, regardless of whether the mother is a human or an animal. The separation is equally excruciating. Recently, a cow’s mourning for her calf was so intense that she couldn’t stop crying, and her sorrowful cries touched many hearts.

The cow’s name is Karma, and she was rescued from a small farm where she lived in appalling conditions. Karma’s new owners, the Gentle Barn Sanctuary in California, assumed that she would be delighted to be given a better life. However, Karma kept crying, and her udders were full of milk.
It became apparent that she had recently given birth, but her calf was nowhere to be found. Upon inquiry with the previous farm, they were informed that Karma’s calf had been sold for meat and was en route to the butcher.

Fortunately, fate intervened when the vehicle transporting Karma’s calf broke down. The rescuers from Gentle Barn Sanctuary seized the opportunity to save the calf from a tragic end. They had to comfort the distressed calf before bringing him to the sanctuary to reunite him with his mother.

The moment when Karma and her calf finally meet at their new home is incredibly touching, despite the calf’s malnourished state and severe stress. As soon as he sees his mother, he regains his strength.
