However, Céline Dion now provides a rather depressing health update. On Thursday, the adored Canadian singer released an emotional message in which she revealed that she had a rare neurological condition.

According to recent reports, Dion sought medical attention for the severe and ongoing muscle spasms she’s been experiencing. Her “unforeseen medical symptoms” forced her to cancel a number of musical appearances in Las Vegas, beginning in November of the last year and continuing all the way through February 5 of the following year, 2022.
The statement read: “Celine has been experiencing severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing.”
“Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat her. However, the symptoms she is experiencing are prohibiting her from participating in the ongoing rehearsals for the new show.”
“I feel so bad that I’m letting them down, and I’m especially sorry for disappointing all the fans who’ve been making their plans to come to Las Vegas. Now, I have to focus on getting better… I want to get through this as soon as I can – Celine.”
Because of this, Celine Dion was compelled to call off her residency in Las Vegas as well as her world tour.
In April, she stated: “I need to be in top shape when I’m on stage.”
Céline Dion suffers from a rare neurological illness

The European portion of her global tour was supposed to begin in the spring of 2023, and all of the dates were to go on as planned. Céline Dion revealed that she is afflicted with a rare neurological condition known as Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). This condition causes muscles to tense up and stiffen in an uncontrollable manner. Due to her terminal condition, she is unable to participate in the trip.
She moved the spring shows that were slated for 2023 to 2024 and she canceled the summer shows that were scheduled for 2023.

She went on to claim that the spasms have a significant impact on her day-to-day life, to the point where she has trouble walking because of them. In addition to this, it prevents her from making use of her vocal cords to sing.
In order to recover, Céline Dion said she is working with a medical team and a sports medicine therapist to “build back my strength and my ability to perform again.”
Dion confesses that it has been difficult.
“All I know is singing is what I’ve done all my life, and it’s what I love to do the most. I miss you so much, I miss seeing all of you being on the stage performing for you.”
Over the course of her career, Céline Dion has sold more than 220 million albums. She started a four-year residency in Las Vegas in 2003, and it quickly became the most lucrative of all time, bringing in more than $385 million.
She made a comeback to the stage in Las Vegas in 2011 for a residency at Caesar’s Palace. Billboard reports that Dion’s 1,141 performances broke the previous record, and she also owns the titles for the two best-selling residencies of all time.
Over $70 million in revenue was lost.
She made $680 million from her two prior residencies in Las Vegas alone. Her estimated net worth is $800 million, and in 2019, she earned $37 million.
However, Celine’s reported financial nightmare has evidently been brought on by her canceled residency performances and muscle spasm issues. The My Heart Will Go On singer has reportedly lost out on almost $70 million in revenues based on her earnings for the Celine residency performance, according to the gaming website SlotsUp.
