From 2000 to 2007, Killings served as a defensive lineman for various NFL teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, and Houston Texans.

Unfortunately, on September 23, 2007, Killings suffered a vertebrae injury following a head-to-head hit during a game between the Texans and the Indianapolis Colts.

Throughout his career, Killings accumulated 36 tackles and three sacks in 34 games. In 2005, he also participated in two playoff games as a member of the Washington Redskins.

After retiring from the NFL, Killings pursued a career as an assistant football coach at Carol City High School in Miami Gardens, Florida. Additionally, he engaged in a Miami Dolphins summer program focused on player safety and technique, as revealed by his alma mater.

Killings is survived by his wife, Shavon, and their three children. Shavon paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband of more than 20 years on June 23 through a Facebook post.

In her emotional message, she expressed that although Cedric is no longer physically with her, he will forever live in her heart and in the hearts of their three daughters. While she finds solace in knowing he is now at peace and free from pain, she remains overwhelmed and in disbelief that this loss is real. Shavon described Cedric as an exceptional individual, highlighting his kindness and impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

She emphasized that her sentiments are shared by their family, friends, and former coworkers, as Cedric was truly loved and respected by all. Shavon expressed gratitude for the privilege of sharing her life with him and for the love they shared. She concluded her tribute by affirming her eternal love for Cedric.
