The reason behind the passing of Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, the grandson of Robert De Niro, has been unveiled.
The Medical Examiner of New York City informed Page Six on Tuesday that the 19-year-old’s demise was a result of a dangerous combination of illicit substances.
Based on the findings of the post-mortem examination, Leandro had a mixture of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine in his system at the time of his passing, which was officially deemed an “accident.”
The woman who was taken into custody in connection with the young adult’s overdose purportedly cautioned him about the fentanyl-laced pills she is believed to have supplied to him.
Based on the criminal complaint acquired by Page Six last month, law enforcement uncovered text messages exchanged between Sophia Marks, aged 20, and Leandro. These messages pertained to the acquisition of fake oxycodone and Xanax, occurring just days prior to Leandro’s passing.
Authorities suspect that Marks might have potentially distributed these pills to individuals as young as 15 years old.
