Carson Wentz, a former NFL quarterback who is currently a free agent, faced significant backlash for posing beside a deceased black bear during his hunting excursion in Alaska.
Wentz described the hunt as a fulfilling “bucket list” experience, as he used a bow and arrow to pursue the bear. The Wentz Bros Outdoors Instagram account, maintained by Carson and his brother Zach, featured the post where they expressed their excitement about spotting and stalking the black bear in Alaska, describing it as an extraordinary trip and an impressive animal.

The brothers, who have shared their hunting endeavors on the Instagram account, have previously showcased their kills, including ducks, bucks, and turkeys. It is worth noting that black bear hunting is legal in Alaska, as long as hunters abide by the state’s regulations governing hunting activities.
Carson Wentz, aged 30, who most recently played in the Commanders’ Week 17 game against the Browns, expressed contentment with his hunting success. However, his actions received criticism from some individuals.
“Hope next time (the) bear wins and you lay down,” one Instagram commenter said.
A third individual expressed their disbelief, stating, “That’s just awful! I can’t believe you killed a bear for sport. Changed my whole perspective of you.”
Another person commented, addressing Wentz’s transition from football, “We know your football career is over, so you have to do another thing for a living. But this is not the way! Respect the animals, the nature. It’s not for your fun.”
