Canine bearing human-like visage wreaks havoc – Drawing parallels to celebrities

Yogi, a one-year-old fluffy Shih-poo, has gained attention due to his remarkably human-like appearance. A snapshot of Yogi alongside his companion Daria, an eight-year-old Shih Tzu, was shared on Reddit, sparking widespread interest. The caption humorously noted, “A friend of a friend posted a pic on Facebook of her dog. It looks like it has a man’s face.”

Numerous individuals share the same sentiment. “Wtf he has the most human eyes I’ve seen on a dog,” expressed one observer.

Michelle provided additional insight, remarking, “But it’s not just his eyes. Look at that little grimace smile that can only come from a middle-aged man whose soul has been given to corporate.” Swiftly, the image migrated to Twitter, prompting comparisons of Yogi to celebrities, including Ed Sheeran, among others.

In this era of digital manipulation, image alteration is a common practice. Therefore, we sought clarification from Yogi’s owner, Chantal Desjardins, regarding the authenticity of the photo. Hailing from Massachusetts and 27 years old, she assured Mirror Online that the image was untouched. She stated, “It [photo] is not doctored at all. Those are my dogs. I put the photo up in December.”

According to Chantal Desjardins, Yogi’s owner, the now-famous photo of the Shih-poo with a seemingly human-like face is indeed unaltered. “It really isn’t [edited]. I’m not a photographer at all. I think it’s just his eyes and the way he’s looking at the camera,” Chantal stated. She acquired Yogi in April, describing him as a regular puppy who loves playing and cuddling. Interestingly, Chantal hadn’t noticed Yogi’s ‘human face’ until the photo gained attention.

While Chantal views Yogi just like any other dog, many have been intrigued by his distinctive appearance. Some reactions include labeling it “disturbing” and comparing him to “Nicolas Cage dressed as an ewok.” This phenomenon gained traction when BuzzFeed reporter Ellie Hall tweeted a photo of Yogi, leading to celebrity comparisons and the ensuing fascination.

Chantal emphasized that Yogi is a well-behaved dog and his resemblance to Nicolas Cage or any other human is coincidental. The phenomenon may be a result of factors such as lighting, angle, and expression in the photo.
