Brave mom, who endured trials of infertility, narrates tale of a roller coaster journey

Approximately one in every five couples will face difficulties conceiving at some point in their lives. For Desiree and Ryan Fortin, this was a challenging and stressful time, but their patience and determination eventually paid off.

Desiree and Ryan had been college sweethearts since 2009, but struggled to conceive for a long time. After being diagnosed with various conditions, they turned to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) after three painful years of trying.

The journey was emotionally and physically draining, with countless negative pregnancy tests and the financial burden of fertility treatments. However, their perseverance paid off when they received the news that the first IVF treatment had been successful.

To their astonishment, they discovered during the ultrasound that they were expecting not just one, but three babies. Desiree and Ryan were overjoyed at the news of triplets.

However, the road ahead was still challenging. Doctors warned Desiree that carrying all three babies to term might not be possible due to her physique and it being her first pregnancy. Despite the concerns, Desiree proved them wrong.

In the summer of 2015, the Fortin triplets were born via C-section at 34 weeks and one day. Sawyer, Jack, and Charlize arrived weighing over 5 pounds each, bringing immense joy to their parents.

Desiree had a difficult recovery, undergoing emergency surgery, which prevented her from seeing her babies immediately. However, Ryan made sure she could witness their arrival through FaceTime. After spending two weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), all three babies were able to come home.

Settling into life with three babies was a precious gift for Ryan and Desiree, though it came with its own challenges. The triplets had severe reflux and colic, making establishing routines and maintaining their relationship a demanding task.

Now, the triplets are 7 years old, and the Fortin family is thriving. Desiree documents their journey and adventures on her Instagram page, where she has garnered a significant following of 150K.

Their story has touched many lives, and Desiree never expected the impact it would have. Additionally, she and Ryan have revealed that they are expecting again, expanding their beautiful family to six members in the near future.
