Troy Luna’s parents advised him not to trust strangers, but they hoped he would never have to heed this advice. They were in error.
When Troy Luna boarded his school bus to return home one day, he observed something ‘off’ about the bus driver.

This 10-year-sharp old’s awareness and courage are credited with preventing a potentially fatal situation for his classmates.
Troy characterized the odor emanating from the bus driver as“A smoky kind of smell and like a weird smell together,”

The California student was frightened by the bus driver’s driving and kept a careful eye on her.
“She stuck on the brakes real hard and a couple of the kids went flying,” Troy told CBS Sacramento .
911 call resulted in driver being stopped
When the vehicle subsequently failed to make a turn and drove onto the highway, Troy realized something was up.
The observant 10-year-old dialed 911, and authorities were waiting at the driver’s next stop to arrest her.
“I was like, ‘Okay, I’m just going to make the 911 call.’” Troy said. “And I made the call.
“My friends were trying to talk me out of it,” Troy said, according to Fox News “I said, ‘I don’t care, I don’t feel right.’ So, I just did it.”
“Failed breathalyzer”
The driver, who was in charge of approximately 30 children aged 5 to 10 aboard the bus, was detained by the police and failed a sobriety test.
CBS Sacramento reported that she was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of children.
