This tragic story recounts how a baby miraculously survived a plane crash. Despite the plane’s sudden descent, the courageous mother refused to let go of her baby boy, and tragically, all other passengers onboard lost their lives. Miraculously, the little child was discovered unharmed and thriving, cradled in the arms of his deceased mother.
On October 13, 2020, Mayerly Diaz Rojas and her partner, Fabio Grandas, were traveling with their son, Martin, and his caretaker, Nuris Maza, aboard the HK 2335-G plane when the tragic event occurred. Following the fatal crash in Colombia, rescue teams scoured the wreckage and discovered the sole survivor, a baby securely cradled in the lifeless arms of his mother.
Reports suggest that the mother used her own body to shield the baby, and despite the plane’s descent, her child miraculously survived the crash while all other passengers perished.
The boy’s father, Fabio Grandas, was the pilot of the plane and a well-known medical professional, while his mother, Mayerly, was an attorney. The couple reportedly had two other children who were not on the plane at the time of the tragic incident.
The family was scheduled to land at Guaymaral airport, but the plane declared an emergency prior to the crash. Authorities conducted an investigation and found that the engine’s documents were in order, but the cause of the crash remains unknown.
Once the wreckage was searched and the infant was discovered to have miraculously survived, he was transported to a hospital to ensure he was out of danger. According to the latest reports, Martin’s condition is stable.
The Colombian Civil Aviation Authority released a statement expressing their condolences to the families of the victims and confirming that the infant who was also on the plane is receiving care at an assistance center.
