The animated feature film Beauty and the Beast is without a doubt one of the most cherished Disney movies of all time. The movie was so well regarded that it was nominated for “Best Feature” at the Academy Awards, which is an honor that is rarely given to an animated film. After that, it went on to become a hit on Broadway, and now there will soon be a live-action adaptation of it.
Angela Lansbury is also quite well-liked by many people. In the movie, she provided the voice for the character Mrs. Potts and sang the song “Tale As Old As Time.” As can be seen in the video that follows, while the experienced actress of theater and cinema is now 90 years old, she does not lose her enthusiasm for performing in front of an audience.
Lansbury took the stage at Lincoln Center in New York City on September 18, 2016, immediately after the 25th anniversary showing of the modern Disney classic. Accompanied on the piano by the song’s composer, Alan Menken, she performed the title song. After the conclusion of her performance, she exits with a huge grin on her face, and the members of the audience leapt to their feet to give her a standing ovation that she richly earned.
What a wonderful treat it was! If you like her performance, be sure to share your friends about it!
