Al Roker, the Today co-anchor and weatherman, has officially become a grandfather! His daughter Courtney Roker Laga, 36, and her husband Wesley Laga, joyfully welcomed their first child, Sky Clara Laga, on Monday, July 3.
Al’s co-hosts shared the exciting news on Tuesday morning, and the proud grandfather, who will now be called “Pop-Pop,” expressed his happiness about the arrival of his grandchild, stating that his daughter and the entire family were doing well.
To share the joy with his followers, Al Roker posted several adorable photos of baby Sky on his Instagram on Wednesday morning.
Courtney had announced her pregnancy in March with a heartfelt announcement, captioning her Instagram video with, “A new adventure is about to begin ❤️🍼.” She expressed her excitement about welcoming a new member into their family and embarking on this next chapter in their lives. She referred to their baby as a “little miracle” and expressed their immense blessings and gratitude.
In June, Al Roker joined family and friends to celebrate his daughter and son-in-law at a baby shower, coinciding with their second wedding anniversary. Al proudly captioned a series of photos from the event, “2 years ago today, these two tied the knot. Today we celebrated their soon-to-arrive baby girl. So excited.”
