Afghanistan soldier killed while on duty – His wife learns about something 2 days after the funeral

Todd Weaver was killed by an IED in 2010 while serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. He passed away at the young age of 26, leaving behind his devoted wife Emma and their adorable daughter Kiley, who was too little to remember her devoted dad.

This story still gives me the chills, and since the brave soldier’s passing, his life has been celebrated for the manner in which it was lived. What he left for his wife and infant daughter in the event of his passing is one great illustration of this.

Emma didn’t know; two days after Todd’s burial, when she opened his laptop and glanced at his desktop, she froze.

The bitter knowledge that she would never get to say goodbye must have been so hard for the young widow Emma from Hampton, Virginia, when she received the heartbreaking news that her devoted husband and the father of their infant daughter had died in an explosion in Afghanistan.

In order for friends and family to pay their respects, the body of the distinguished officer was flown home, where a memorial service was held. In lieu of flowers, attendees were invited to make a donation to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.

Emma opened the laptop he had with him in Afghanistan two days after she had laid her loving husband to rest, and she was shocked by what she discovered.

On the desktop, there were two documents: one was labeled “Dear Emma,” and the other “Dear Kiley.”

What lovely and motivational farewell letters Todd had written to his two ladies in the case of his passing.

“I guess I did not make it home”

He wrote both letters with his whole heart, but the words he picked were chosen specifically to offer them both strength when he passed away. The following items were included in the letter that he sent to Emma:

The second letter is one that Todd has sent to his daughter Kiley, who is 9 months old.

Words that helped to bring about peace

Powerful letters were written to every one of his leading ladies. Emma mentioned in her online journal that despite the fact that the words were hard to read, they gave her both peace and courage.

Watch the touching memorial service held in honor of this brave man who passed away while serving his nation.
