Van Dyke is not slowing down. In his wife’s music video, he added his signature humor and dance moves.
Dick Van Dyke is still moving to his own beat. He is one of the most charming people in Hollywood. Even though the actor and comedian is 96, he is not only in good health but also still has his moves. Van Dyke posted a video of himself and his wife, Arlene Silver, dancing and singing to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and it makes us so happy. On December 13, 2021, he turned 96.
He even said as a joke during the 2020 presidential election, “I have all my marbles.” Arlene Silver directed the music video, which stars her husband, Van Dyke, and the band The Vantastix. Entertainment Online said that the music video was set to “Everybody Loves a Lover,” a hit song by Doris Day from the 1950s. Silver sang the part that Day was supposed to sing, and Van Dyke joined her and added his own touch as he showed off some of his moves.
Van Dyke, who has won four Emmys, was his usual goofy self in the video, which is as cute as you can imagine. Van Dyke has been a big name in movies and TV for more than 50 years. “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” “Mary Poppins,” and “Bye Bye Birdie” are all movies where he did well. In the 1960s, he also had a show called after himself. Silver starts the video by singing Day’s parts while Van Dyke scats in the background. The Vantastix, which is made up of Eric Bradley, Bryan Chadima, and Mike Mendyke, also sings. As Silver keeps singing, they can be seen singing along and snapping their fingers.
Van Dyke might be sitting in a chair and taking it easy when he decides to join in. Even at 96, people can’t stop talking about how good he is. Some of his moves reminded me of moves he’s done in movies he’s been in. People can’t stop watching the icon dance after the video went viral. On the set, you can also see him winking at the camera and messing around with naked statues. Silver and Van Dyke finish the video with a sweet kiss and a cuddle on a loveseat.
Van Dyke takes care to stay in shape, and he often posts videos of himself working out on Instagram. Even though he has arthritis, COPD, and spinal stenosis, it looks like the comedian can’t be stopped. Last year, Van Dyke was honored in Washington, D.C., at the 43rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors.
He said at the time, “I’m just happy to be anywhere,” he said at the time. “If I’d known I was going to live this long I would’ve taken better care of myself. … How I got here, I don’t know, and I’m not going to ask,” he added.
Yahoo News said that Silver, who is a producer, and Van Dyke have been married for almost 10 years. They met six years before that. On February 29, they marked 10 years of being married. After 36 years of marriage, Van Dyke got a divorce from Margie Willett, the mother of his four children, in 1984. This is Van Dyke’s second marriage. Then, he was with actress Michelle Triola for more than 30 years until she died in 2009.
